Center Rules

As a resident of this center you are expected to comply fully with center rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. We will notify you in advance of any changes to center rules and policies as required by law.


Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the center at any time, unless given by a physician’s order.

Center Property

You are responsible and will be charged for the repair or replacement of any center property that you or your guests damage or destroy. You will not be charged or held responsible damages that are expected from ordinary wear and tear.

Criminal Acts & Illegal Drugs

The center does not condone illegal acts on its property. Residents are not permitted to use illegal drugs or commit criminal acts on center property. The center may discharge the resident for using illegal drugs or committing crimes.

Firearms and Other Weapons

Weapons, firearms, and ammunition are not allowed on company or Center property. The Center prohibits residents and visitors from possessing or storing weapons, firearms, or ammunition at the Center or surrounding Center property. Residents who violate the firearms policy will be subject to a 30-day discharge notice. Dangerous or illegal behavior may be reported to local law enforcement. This policy does not apply to security or law enforcement personnel engaged in official duties.

Hiring Private Duty Personnel

You may hire private duty personnel, including nurse aides, caregivers, sitters, etc. upon advance written approval from the Executive Director or Director of Nursing Services. Advance approval is for the purpose of completing a criminal background check and proper immunization of the proposed private duty personnel.

You are responsible for providing the information and fees required for the center to complete a background check on any proposed private duty personnel. Prior to providing service to you, private duty personnel must receive orientation and proper immunization, and agree to comply with fire safety codes and center rules. The center is not responsible for negligent performance or nonperformance of private duty personnel. We reserve the right to withdraw approval of any private duty personnel at any time.

Current center employees are not eligible to serve as private duty personnel. The center reserves the right to withdraw approval of any private duty personnel at any time.

Private duty personnel are the resident’s employee or contractor. The resident is financially responsible for any private duty personnel charges. A private duty personnel’s failure to follow care plans, center rules, federal and state regulations, or any combination thereof is the resident’s sole responsibility. The resident and resident group will save, indemnify, and hold the center harmless from and against any and all losses, claims, suites, damages, liabilities, and expenses based upon, arising out of, or attributable to the negligent performance or nonperformance of such private duty personnel.


All medications require a physician’s order and are administered by the nursing staff. The center can only accept medications it receives directly from the pharmacy. All other forms of medication are prohibited in the center. This includes over-the-counter medications such as vitamins, laxatives, aspirin, cold medicines, antacids, etc.


Pets living in the center (including guide dogs and other service animals) must be housebroken or trained to use a litter box, or housed in cages or tanks cleaned at regular intervals appropriate for the animal’s characteristics. Pets must have regularly scheduled exams and immunizations by a veterinarian, as appropriate for the species, with the exam and immunization record maintained on the premises. Pets are protected from mistreatment. See Visitors & Guests for guidelines regarding visiting pets.

Some animals are not allowed in the center. Please see the Executive Director prior to having a pet visitor to find out if your pet is appropriate.

 Photographs & Recording Devices

We are concerned about the privacy of every resident, visitor, and employee in this center. Our goal is to comply with patient privacy regulations. This center does not allow the use of any recording or surveillance device within the center or on center premises without express written permission of the Executive Director. This includes, but is not limited to, cameras, cell phone cameras and video recording, and audio recording devices.

We encourage the use of social media as a means to stay connected with friends and loved ones at home. Please use Social Media websites responsibly and be respectful of other residents in the center by only posting personal information about yourself. Residents and family are not to use social media websites to post any information about or of another resident, including names, photographs, videos, etc. Posting information, photos, or video of other residents without their permission may be a violation of that resident’s privacy. The center does not condone such actions by its residents. Please see the Executive Director if you have a question about what is appropriate.
